This book presents the historical development and overview of Pentecostalism and Charismatism as the fastest-growing stream of global Christianity. Studying Pentecostalism and Charismatism in the Ghanaian context, the book pays particular attention to their attractive features, strands of existence and phenomenological descriptions. The book further takes a critical approach to the phenomenon of spiritual manifestations in Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity. It does that by giving an interpretation of what Pentecostal adherents do whilst expressing spirituality and exercising charismata. In this light, the prevalent use of symbols, sharing of testimonies, issues of money and the dis/continuity of the spiritual manifestations with that of primal worldviews are examined.
